CASE IV: MONARCH
The Monarch photographed is one that I caught as a child. I was super into collecting and trying to catch every species of butterfly in Missouri.
To me, the Monarch's beauty lay in the time it had sat unnoticed on a shelf started to erode and decay within its frame over the past 20+ years. It now had worn-down wings, and scratches and had even lost a bit of color sitting in the sun. The Monarch print is carefully positioned over a graph paper read-out and an X/Y axis above to track that movement of the Monarchs flapping wings.
1/1 Artist Proof 36”X48”
Hand-made solid Oak frame w/ Plexi & 2” Acid-free mat
